A Whole Lot Of What We Have Been Up To

Just a little recap of what we have been up to this summer. Sorry if this is a long post.

Another baseball season has come and gone Bam played T-Ball for the first time and really enjoyed it. He also enjoyed playing out in the outfield, in the dirt with cars apparently matchbox cars and baseball are now played together. Ashton played ball again this year with Brian coaching they did all right, but didn't make it to state but another team picked Ashton up and took him to state which was really fun. They played really good at state, its just a little hard to compete with teams that play 6 days a week. So they had fun and that is all that matters.
Then we had visits from cousins which is always fun. My sister came from texas with her kids for two weeks, and we ran the whole time she was here.

Of course we went swimming!

And to get Ice cream!

and for walks up to the temple. (we found out that they need bathrooms at the temple)

The kids and adults also had fun at jumping jacks!
Another Fun thing that we did while they were out here was we planned this big sleepover at my moms house. My other sister came up from Preston and we told my mom that we were going to sleep out in a tent on her lawn. But we really had plans to stay up all night and decorate her lawn cause it was her 60th birthday. We got the tent all set up and the kids in there. and my mom just stayed in the tent with us FOREVER! We had to have all the birthday stuff hidden and had to try to keep the kids quiet which was very hard. Finally she went in the house and the fun began. The kids helped Steph put marshmellows on toothpicks, Bam actually just stabbed the marshmellows and then ate them, Me and Sheena blew up 200 pink water balloons and taped them onto skewers, all the time we are trying to be quiet cause my moms window was right above us. Finally all the kids fell asleep except Ashton who was telling stories and my other sister Teddi Sue showed up with the posters. We than began to decorate my moms front yard, and after all the hard work the kids put into putting the marshmellows onto the toothpicks we didn't even use them cause you couldn't really see them. After a very long night and quite a few stories from Ashton and then having to move into the house because we didn't put the rain gear up, the next morning came. All the kids did a great job in keeping the lawn a secret but we finally had to tell my mom to go outside and lets just say she was really surprised. She was also really surprised when we took her up town to get a drink and she saw the Happy Birthday poster that we put up on the Manti Templar sign. All and all we had a great time and made some great memories.

We also have gone on a few camping trips this year. the first one we went on was to fishlake, Love fishlake. The kids had a great time riding 4 wheelers and fishing and just playing with cousins. Bam also found his calling in life while we were there, he is going to be the official caveman spokesman for geico insurance. That kid loves dirt!

The next camping trip we went up on skyline drive. We took the kids fishing and they thought that was fun for about a minute and so we took them around to the opposite side of the lake and this is what the ended up doing cause it was so blasted hot.

After fishing someone had this great idea to go for a hike. So me and my sister-inlaw threw the babies on our backs and off we went. With 4 adults, 5 kids, and two dogs lets just say that we didn't see one animal. After we sat for a little bit and ate snacks we decided to hike back to the jeep before it got to dark. On the way out Bodey started to chase something and he took off. With it getting dark and having 5 kids to try to get off the mountain we just kept going, cause usually he comes back... well he didn't this time. Brain and his friend Steve went back to where we had ate looking for him and never found him, so we left him and went back to camp. All of us were really sad, including Brian even though he says that he is worthless you can't help but to love him. So after a really long night I got up early and went back to where we had started and out comes Bodey yelping for joy. Oh if only we could have seen what he saw, poor little dog has never slept outside before and his belly had scratches all over it, The event traumatized him for a good week, he didn't even go out to chase the birds probably because he now knows what it feels like to be chased. We are sure glad that he is back, next time he will be on a leash.

So that is what we have been up to this summer. There is still 3 weeks left in the summer, so i am sure that we can blog about something we have been up to.
